It’s been reported that a return to Chelsea could be in the cards for Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech. Those claims may ultimately be proven true in the long, but if so, there is a long ways to go until a deal actually happens. According to the player’s agent, Viktor Kolar, a bid hasn’t even been made yet.
He added that Cech remains focused on the Gunners for the time being.
“It is always busy during every transfer window around Petr Cech, as a great Premier League person. However, he maximally focuses on the new season at Arsenal, no specific offer is available,” said Kolar.
Cech’s future at Arsenal had been cast into doubt with the arrival of goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, but new Gunners boss Unai Emery has not publicly declared who his #1 will be this season as of yet. According to the ESPN report, David Ospina, not Petr Cech, is the Arsenal shot stopper who is more likely to be sold this transfer window.
If Cech does move, Chelsea could be a good fit, but only if Stamford Bridge is unable to prevent current #1 Thibaut Courtois from moving to Real Madrid.
